IPL 2023: After RCB’s elimination for another Playoffs, Naveen-ul-Haq trolls Virat Kohli

After RCB’s elimination from the IPL 2023 playoffs, Naveen-ul-Haq took the opportunity to taunt Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB’s loss to Gujarat Titans by 6 wickets at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 21 meant that they remained on 14 points. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians secured the final playoffs spot with their victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on the same day.
Naveen, who had a well-known disagreement with Kohli earlier in the season and had faced ridicule from fans in Lucknow and Kolkata with chants of ‘Kohli Kohli’, seized the moment to tease Kohli and RCB.
He shared a subtle jab on Instagram, posting a video that seemingly mocked RCB and Virat Kohli following their defeat to GT. Notably, Lucknow Super Giants had already secured their place in the IPL 2023 playoffs with a win over KKR.
Since their encounter during the RCB vs LSG match this season, Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq have continuously exchanged taunts towards one another. This particular game gained notoriety due to Kohli engaging in a heated argument with Gautam Gambhir.
Subsequent to the match, the BCCI imposed fines on all three players involved, and both Kohli and Naveen resorted to posting enigmatic messages on social media.
Naveen appeared to ridicule RCB following their loss to Mumbai Indians by using a mangoes analogy. However, fans mercilessly taunted the talented player from Afghanistan and Lucknow Super Giants, as they chanted Virat Kohli’s name at various venues whenever Naveen took the field.
Following the widespread circulation of several videos showing Naveen being taunted by the crowd, the fast bowler from LSG responded defiantly to the fans by gesturing with a finger on his lips during the match against KKR. Additionally, he continued to mock RCB by sharing a sarcastic post on social media after the Bengaluru-based team was eliminated from the IPL 2023 playoffs.
In a crucial match against GT, RCB suffered a defeat by 6 wickets, which dashed their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs. Despite finishing with 14 points, RCB’s quest for their first-ever IPL title remains unfulfilled.
