IPL 2023: Anjinkya Rahane Shines as CSK Roars against Mumbai Indians.

In a thrilling encounter at the Wankhede Stadium, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by seven wickets in the 12th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Saturday.
CSK won the toss and put forth Mumbai Indians to bat first. MI posted a below-par total of 157 for eight after being put into bat by CSK skipper MS Dhoni.
Opener Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma started the innings with some good hits, but the breakthrough came when the MI skipper was bowled out by Tushar Deshpande in the fourth over.
Soon after Rohit, Ishan was sent back to the pavilion in the sixth over by Ravindra Jadeja. He scored 32 runs in 21 balls.
After that, the MI’s middle order collapsed in no time, thanks to Jadeja’s brilliant spell of 3/20 in four overs. After that Tim David tried to keep the team standing, but was caught out by Tushar for 31 runs of 21 balls.
Chasing a modest target of 158, CSK lost Conway at Duck in the very first over. He was bowled out by Behrendorff.
After that Anjinkya Rahane took the charge in his own hand. CSK were powered by a brilliant knock from him scoring 61 runs off 27 balls, the fastest half-century of the TATA IPL 2023.
Rahane hit seven fours and three sixes in nineteen balls to complete his half-century.
The partnership of opener Rituraj Gaikwad and Anjinkya Rahane help CSK to maintain stability in the early phase even after losing Conway for a golden duck.
Gaikwad, Dube and Raydu contributed 40(36), 28(26) and 20(16) runs respectively.
Jadeja was awarded the Man of the Match for his spell of 3 wickets for 20 runs.
This win against Mumbai pushed CSK into the fourth position of the points table.
MI has also climbed up to the sixth position due to Delhi Capitals losing against Rajasthan on the same day.
This affected DC’s run rate drastically, due to which they were forced down to the eighth position in the points table.
