Linda Yaccarino to succeed Musk as Social Media Giant Twitter hires new CEO

In the latest development, Elon Musk has announced on social media that Linda Yaccarino will succeed him as Twitter’s CEO. The confirmation was made on Friday evening, just hours after NBCUniversal revealed her departure. Musk had previously hinted that the new CEO would begin working in around six weeks.

In a tweet, he expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment of Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter and his eagerness to collaborate with her in turning the platform into “X”, an all-encompassing application.

As per Musk’s announcement, the newly designated CEO will primarily concentrate on overseeing business operations, while the SpaceX and Tesla chief will be directing their attention towards product design and developing innovative technologies.

In a previous tweet, he stated that he would assume the position of executive chair and chief technology officer, with responsibilities for overseeing product development, software operations, and systems operations.

Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion last October and indicated that he’d only be in charge for a limited time to complete the organizational overhaul he thought the company needed to prosper.

In December, Musk asked his Twitter followers if he should step down as CEO, and 57.5% said yes. The billionaire said he will remain executive chairman after the transition.

At a crucial juncture for the social media platform, Musk’s appointment aims to improve the company’s prospects.

In the previous month, Musk asserted that Twitter has achieved a state of being “roughly break-even” and is expected to generate positive cash flow in the current quarter.
