Naga Chaitanya breaks the hush after his separation from Samantha Ruth Prabhu

After scoring a superhit with Love Story last year, Naga Chaitanya is geared to triumph again in 2022 with Bangarraju.

In addition to his achievements in 2021, the actor and his wife, Samantha, confirmed their divorce. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha announced the end of their nearly four-year marriage on their respective social networking sites on October 2, last year.

“It’s OK to be separated,” Naga Chaitanya remarked during a press conference to promote his film Bangarraju. The actor went on to say, “That is a mutual decision made for the individual’s happiness.” If she is happy, then I am happy. So divorce is the best decision in such a situation.”
It’s the first time the actor has mentioned his divorce publicly, which has stirred widespread debate on social sites. Chaitanya had previously stated in another interview in December of last year that he would not accept anyone trying to harm his family.

Then, prior to the release of Bangarraju, Chaitanya also addressed his work and personal life.
Naga posted on Instagram a public declaration on October 2nd, “To all our well-wishers.” After much deliberation and thought, Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have had a friendship for over a decade that was the very core of our relationship, which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers, and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thank you for your support.”

Samantha was also featured in the Oo Antava single from Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise in December.

She told Filmfare about her parting from Naga: “I know I’m still going to live my life and with all the issues that I now face in my personal life, I was surprised at how strong I was.” I thought I was a much weaker person. I thought that with my separation, I would crumble and die. I didn’t think I was capable of being this strong… Today I’m very very proud of how strong I’m because I really didn’t know I was.”

By joint accord, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya have filed for divorce. Court proceedings have also been initiated.
